From the Board of Governors

We wish to thank all of those members and friends or spouses of members who pitched in and helped with our first Drag Race Food Booth on August 15th.  We didn’t do as well financially as we would have liked but this was our first try and will know better how to plan for next year.

Also, a hearty thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with the Wasco County Fair Food Booth and Pop Stand this past week. It was a good event and we made a few dollars that will help with the Club expenses.

This next month has a number of events planned. We will continue on with the “21” nights on September 11 and 18. The next Texas-Hold-Em Tournament will be September 25th.  You must be signed up and paid by Thursday night September 22nd. The winner of the last Hold-Em Tournament was Brian Farrell. Along those same lines, Ruby will be holding a “21” Tournament on September 17th.  This contest will be limited to a very few players for the trial run.

The picnic tentatively scheduled for September 19th has been cancelled due to lack of interest and we will have a member appreciation night later in the fall to replace it. The drawing for the pig raffle will be held on the 25th in conjunction with the Texas-Hold-Em tournament.

Four of our members will be playing in a Golf Tournament at Hermiston on September 18th.  If there is anyone out there who wants to form another foursome and attend should talk to Dan McHale.

We have quite a few activities going on now at the Lodge and Club. Why not drop by and see what we are doing and suggest other ways we can interest you in participating.
